In the Youth ministry this month we will be looking at friendship. Do you have a best friend? Do you have friends that you hang out with or confide in when life gets rough? What does the bible teach about friendship and am I involved in healthy ones?

Our Sunday school classes began looking at this topic last Sunday. This quote was given in our book, “True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost.” Have you ever lost a friend and understand that quote? Students learned Sunday that true friendship involves commitment, love, and sacrifice.

Unfortunately, if your understanding of friends comes from sitcoms and not Scripture, you might be involved in unhealthy friendships. This Wednesday night at 6:30 we are going to continue to learn about friendship from God’s word as we look to the book of Ecclesiastes.

“A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:34).”

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time (Proverbs 17:17).”

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17).”
